BCT was formed by telecommunications technicians Jim Sklenars and Gary Bovett and their wives Gisella and Anne, in the late 1990’s. Jim and Gary had both had a number of years working in the telecommunications field across Taranaki, experience that saw them involved with such environments as Shell production platforms, methanol and gas production, Fonterra (then Kiwi Dairies) as well as a myriad local medium sized businesses.
A later phase saw them develop relationships with a number of suppliers, in particular Panasonic New Zealand, which gave access to a wide range of products from PABX to high end security surveillance, conference venue solutions and projection equipment.
Through this time the company developed relationships with entities such as Cogent and Online Communications that have seen involvement in projects including a major communications upgrade in Foodstuffs supermarkets in the Taranaki region.
The company has moved with the technology, progressing from conventional services that were once all provided over copper wires to new solutions via fibre optic and cellular networks, including cloud based solutions.
Jim and Gary are privileged to have on board an excellent team of technical and administration staff
BCT offers solutions from conventional telephone systems to sophisticated Voice Over IP solutions, from structured copper and fibre optic to wireless network solutions, from router and switch installation to desk top support (they even have a capable Apple tech on board).
